TKT Drivers University training prepares you for the written and driving parts of your Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A test with:
50 hours of classroom training
50 hours of field/range instruction
40 hours of observation training
20 hours behind-the-wheel training (to include 3 hours night driving) - per student
After passing the written knowledge tests, SCDMV issues a CDL permit allowing training under a CDL training school. Next, after driver training, practical testing will be required to secure a CDL. The test covers three parts: a vehicle inspection test, the basic controls test and the road test.
